Slack at CSUMB is in the early stages of pilot and testing, as a communication tool for departmental use for staff and faculty.

Project

Phase 1:

We will be piloting Slack with these groups starting in May 2022:

  • Information Technology
  • University Communications
  • Otter Student Union
  • Provost office
  • Web Section Editors using a shared channel. 

After two months of our initial pilot and fact finding we will be able to communicate further in regards to next steps.

Signing into Slack

Signing into slack is tied to your SSO however, you will not be able to sign unless you have been added as part of the pilot/testing.

If you have been assigned a work space this is where you can sign in csumb.enterprise.slack.com to view slack in browser mode.

Installing Slack client to your desktop

Windows

If you have windows you can install the client directly from Slack via download slack for windows page.

Mac

For Macs you will need to use CSUMBs Self Service to install the client.
