Logging into a CSUMB-issued Mac

How to log into a Mac with the Jamf Connect login screen.

Body

Connecting to the Internet for the First Time

If this is your first time logging into this Mac, you may need to connect it to the Internet before you can log in.

Note: To ensure the security of computers, only password-protected Wi-Fi networks can be joined at the login window.

 

  1. To connect to a Wi-Fi Internet connection from the login screen, click the round blue Wi-Fi button, shown here:

  2. Select your preferred Wi-Fi network from the Network Name list. If Wi-Fi is turned off, then click the toggle switch to turn it on.
    Note: To ensure the security of the connection, only password-protected Wi-Fi networks can be joined at the login window.

  3. Click Join.
  4. Enter the Username and/or Password for the Wi-Fi network you are joining.
  5. A green check mark should show that you are connected to the wireless network.
  6. Click Close and return to the login screen.
  7. Try to log in to the Mac with your CSUMB username and password.

 

How to Log in

 

  1. Enter your CSUMB Username (e.g. "otte1234") and Password, then click the Log In button (or press the return key). CSUMB login screen
  2. Select a multifactor authentication method, then click Next.

  3. You will be prompted to enter the correct multifactor response. Below is an example of the SMS verification code prompt.

  4. After you have successfully authenticated, the Mac will log in to the desktop.

If you do not remember your password or are having trouble logging in please reset you password at https://csumb.okta.com and click on Need Help Logging In at the bottom of the login box or call the Help Desk at 831-582-4357 (Available Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm excluding campus holidays). 

Reminder: Saving all documents to the cloud instead of your computer can be a lifesaver, especially if you are having an issue with your CSUMB computer and the computer needs to be swapped out.
