Clearing Your Browser Cache

Summary

If you're having problems logging in or accessing a website, you may need to clear your browser cache.

Body

If you are having issues with your web browser or a specific website you may need to release your browsing data (cache). 

Here are instructions for clearing the browsing data from the following web browsers:  

Google Chrome

  1. Click on the "Menu" in the upper right corner of Google Chrome (the three stacked dots).
  2. Next, select the option "more tools"
  3. In the next step click on "Clear browsing data..."
  4. Click on the Advanced tab.
  5. Select All time from the Time range pull down menu.
  6. Check all the check boxes.
  7. Click Clear data button at the bottom.
  8. When it's done you will be taken back to the settings screen this is normal. 
  9. Completely quit out of Google Chrome and then relaunch before using. This is an important step.

Google Chrome Android App

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
  2. At the top right, tap More .
  3. Tap History. Clear browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Next to "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  6. Tap Clear data.
  7. Completely quit out of your Chrome app before using. This is an important step.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click on the three dots to the right of the address bar.
  2. Select history.
  3. Click on the three dots to the left of the push pin icon at the top of the History menu.
  4. Click on "Clear browsing data".
  5. Select All Time from the time range menu.
  6. Select Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files and click the Clear now button.
  7. Completely quit out of Microsoft Edge before using. This is an important step.

Firefox

  1. In the menu, "History" select "Clear Recent History…"
  2. In the dropdown menu, you can define the time range you want to delete the cache. You have the following options: last hour, last two hours, last four hours, today or all.
  3. To delete all data, select "All" from the dropdown menu...
  4. Afterwards, click on the arrow next to "Details" and toggle the different possibilities to chose which data should be deleted. If you want to delete only the cache, then only mark the checkbox next to "Cache".
  5. With a click on the button "clear now" you delete the cache.
  6. Completely quit out of Firefox before using. This is an important step.

Safari for iOS devices

  1. Open the Settings app and click Safari.
  2. Tap "Clear History and Website Data." Tap "Clear History and Website Data" to clear your Safari cache, history, and cookies. ...
  3. Your device will double-check that you want to clear Safari's data.
  4. Completely quit out of your Safari before using. This is an important step.
