How to Configure Your Personal Windows 10 Computer for the CSUMB Wi-Fi Network

Summary

Steps for configuring Windows 10 to use the CSUMB encrypted wireless network.

NOTE: These settings are applicable to personally owned computers, ie BYOD devices, not to CSUMB Owned or Managed Computers.

 

Create a profile for the CSUMB Wi-Fi network:

1. Right-click on the “Wi-Fi” icon at the lower right Taskbar. Click “Open Network & Internet settings”.

2. Click Wi-Fi. Turn on Wi-Fi. Click “Manage known networks." Add a new network.

3. Create “CSUMB” wifi network. Setup the following settings:

             Network Name: CSUMB
             Security Type:    WPA2-Enterprise AES
             EAP Method: PEAP
             Authentication Method: EAP-MSCHAPV2
                         Check “Connect automatically”

Click save.

4. Go back to the “Wi-Fi” icon on the taskbar, locate “CSUMB”  and select connect.

5. Login using your OtterID.

6. Connect on the Security warning prompt. Certificate details will show clearpass.csumb.edu certificate.
