Remote Support

We use several tools and techniques to provide remote support for your computer. We may ask you to use one of these tools with us and in some instances you will need to click on a link or download and run a client that lets us see what you are seeing on your computer so we can help you.

ManageEngine Remote Control

This is our default remote support tool and is used for all CSUMB managed Windows computers and users can use the handy chat windows during the process. It's usage is currently limited to computers connected to the CSUMB network.

Zoom Meeting

Zoom is very popular for online meetings, but it can also be used to provide remote support. During a Zoom session you can communicate through your phone, the computer and chat and even share your screen. t can be used no matter where you are (on or off campus) and with nearly any Windows or macOS device, even one not owned or managed by CSUMB.

Rescue Assist

With Rescue Assist, we can provide instant remote support by sending you a link that allows you to share your screen and chat with us about your issue. A link from Rescue Assist starts with https://fastsupport.com/XXXXX and will have a series of numbers on the end. It can be used no matter where you are (on or off campus) and with nearly any Windows or macOS device, even one not owned or managed by CSUMB.

Let the support technician you are working with when know when you have completed these steps so they can continue to help you.

Reminder: Saving all documents to the cloud instead of your computer can be a lifesaver, especially if you are having an issue with your CSUMB computer and the computer needs to be swapped out.
