Notification of Avaya Softphone Usage

As CSUMB continues to provide technology support to improve the end users experience, we also want to keep our staff safe. During this period of staff working remotely, some critical support areas have been identified to receive the Avaya Softphone Application. Avaya Softphone Application is a software program that is installed on your computer and uses the internet to make calls. It will function just like an office desk phone.

Once the software is installed on your CSUMB computer, you will be able to make and answer phone calls using your mouse pointer or keyboard.

Please be aware that the Avaya Softphone Application is not to be used to call 911 because the software uses the internet to make calls. In the case of an emergency, the emergency services dispatchers will not be able to pinpoint your location. If you need to call 911, use your home phone (land line) or mobile phone.

Before you can use this service, you will need to acknowledge that you have received the Notification of Avaya Softphone Usage and will not use the application to dial 911.
