Using the CSUMB Guest Wi-Fi Option

The CSUMB guest Wi-Fi option on campus is for campus visitors who need basic internet access. It is provided as a courtesy for visitors and is not encrypted. This is considered a public network and should not be considered secure.

To use CSUMB Guest:

  • Select the CSUMB Guest SSID from the available WiFi networks on your device.
  • Open a browser and visit any webpage to start the registration process. You will be asked to accept the terms and then you will be registered onto the Guest Wi-Fi.
  • Your access will be limited to 48 hours. After 48 hours, you can re-register your device using the same instructions above.

Using CSUMB Guest on a mobile device:

Now that web pages are more secure, some mobile devices do not like being redirected to splash pages. If after you connect to the guest Wi-Fi it isn't working is navigate to csumbguest.csumb.edu or neverssl.com in the iPhone/iPad safari browser. This generally fixes the redirect issue and allows you to connect to CSUMB Guest.

Using CSUMB Guest in the residence halls for non-computer devices:

Students in the main campus residence halls may also register devices like game controllers or Smart TVs on the CSUMB Guest network. Go to CSUMB Device Registration and follow the instructions to register your device (must be done from on-campus location).  This method provides 1 year access for each device registered.

Note: To forget the CSUMB guest network read article "How to forget CSUMB on your Wi-Fi device."

If you need help with your CSUMB WiFi please call the IT Help Desk at 831-582-4357 or place a Wireless IT Service ticket.
