New Features
Watchlists
Watchlists allow users to monitor specific pieces of information or changes within the home screen without the full data set. Think of it as setting up alerts for things you're interested in, so you only get updates on that specific information and not everything.
Export to Excel
This feature allows you to export information directly from OAS to an Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheet for the purpose of retaining the original report formatting.
Tips for using Export to Excel:
• Must by in Author mode (see Author and Reader Mode) [anchor to Author reader mode]
• Retains much of the original formatting (but not all).
• Export to Excel is slower than Export to CSV
• Recommend that you Filter (for example to your subject) the dataset prior to Export to Excel
Top N Filter
The "top N" filter lets you limit the results based upon ranking in a specified metric, such as seeing the top 10 most enrolled classes. This can also be toggled to display the bottom ranked for a given metric as well.
Notable Changes
The look and feel of the homepage
There are slight changes to the look and feel of the OAS 7.6 homepage. Additionally there are also additional customization options for your homepage.
Author and Reader Mode
The toggles between Author (Edit) and Reader (view only) modes have changed and now most visualizations and reports default to Reader view and must be switched to author mode to manipulate the data. You can change the default mode in your profile settings.
More formatting options
The OAS 7.6 upgrade also allows you to have more formatting options for your visualizations in the newly repositioned settings menu.
Enhanced presentation mode
OAS 7.6 improves the display of visualizations by offering better display and more styling choices.
Known Issues
The 7.6 update of OAS does not cover certain known issues including:
- Does not fix records being returned with blank cells (SR#23767039)
- Does not address ongoing performance issues
- Critical: OKTA/AD login not working for some users - open an IT ticket!
- Export to Excel can be slow for large tables (CSV is faster)
- Double click to map columns in Select Columns no longer works
- Auto Insights disabled
- Social integration (Slack) disabled
- Watchlists are disabled - IT is currently working on implementing this feature.
