Elevated Employee Access

Description:

All CSUMB employees receive basic access to specific applications and functions when hired by the University. When elevated (as required by your specific position) is required, a Data Access Request (DAR) Form must be completed and approved by the respective Manager and Data Owners.

The majority of users in Student Affairs (Admissions, Student Records, Financial Aid) receive standard access for their position upon submission of a "New Employee DAR" form. Special cases or elevated access are requested as needed via the "Alternate Access DAR" form.

Some applications are supported by specific Departments, however. (See Other Types of Accounts section below.)

Process for Requesting Elevated Access:

Elevated access to new applications, or elevated access to existing applications, must be pre-approved by the employee Department Manager and Data Owner. Each application has it's own process for obtaining elevated access. The following summarizes the typical DAR process:

  1. Completing the appropriate Data Access Request form (DAR)
  2. Obtaining Dean or Director approval
  3. Access to OASIS requires obtaining the appropriate Data Manager 's approval (e.g., Records or Financial Aid, etc.).
  4. Submit the completed form to Enterprise & Engagement Applications or Operations Support and Innovation.
  5. Complete any required training
  6. A Security Analyst updates access in each respective application
