Hardware Pick-up and Drop-Off Procedure

Computer and IT equipment drop-off / pick-up appointment information

Not feeling well? Please refrain from visiting us if you're sick, not feeling well, or are coughing. Instead, call us to reschedule your appointment at 831-582-4357.

Employees may be asked to drop-off and/or pick-up IT equipment such as laptops, external monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets, with us. Please follow the instructions below to ensure that your pick-up or drop-off appointment runs smoothly.

  1. Service ticket required: All pick-up/drop-off appointments require a related service ticket.
  2. Scheduled appointments only: Equipment drop-offs and pick-ups require scheduled appointments, to ensure staff is there to meet you.
  3. Fifteen minute appointment window: Appointments are scheduled ahead of time and in 15-minute increments. If you're late, we may ask you to re-schedule.
  4. Computer pick-up appointments require:
    • Username/password: Please be sure you know your CSUMB username and password before you arrive because you may need to login to your computer before you leave and we can't help with account issues during this process.
    • Windows computer: You'll need to unbox the laptop, power it on, connect to CSUMB WiFi and login before you take it off campus. Follow these instructions for help selecting CSUMB WiFi before you leave campus.
    • MacOS computer. Follow these instructions to login the first time from on or off campus.
  5. Computer drop-off appointments require:
    • Power adapter/charger: Please bring the power adapter or charger with you
  6. Location: The back door of the parking lot entrance of the IT Services Building/43.
    • You can find us on the campus map and our physical address is: 4311 Sixth Avenue Seaside, CA 93955. It's easiest to get to our building by taking Seventh Avenue and then either B Street or Butler Street.

Parking lot side of IT Services (campus building 43) shows an arrow pointing at back door. A small staircase to get from parking lot to back door is required. We can accommodate you if you are unable to use the stairs.

If you can not go up/down the stairs let us know, we will happily meet you at the front of the building where our ramp is located, or we can bring the equipment down to you in the parking lot.

Please note that all pick-up and drop-off appointments are made with administrative support coordinators, so no technical support is available during these appointments. If additional support is needed after you pick up a computer, please contact the Help Desk at (831) 582-4357.
