Set Up Call Forwarding for Your Campus Extension

  1. Login to the ESNA Officelinx web portal at voicemail.csumb.edu.  Please see the Knowledge Base article called “How to Login to the ESNA Officelinx Web Portal” for help logging in for the first time.

  1. Select the Addresses box under the Location column.

  1. Use Addresses to add the phone numbers you would like to use for call-forwarding. Click Add to add a new phone number.  A pop-up window will appear.  Enter a meaningful Description and the phone number, including “1” and the area code if the phone number is not a campus number.  Select Set as Default if you would like this number to be assigned as the default number for all of your Locations. Click Save and then close the Addresses window.  Note: Internal numbers are campus extension numbers you can dial by using only 4 digits. External numbers are numbers that are not provided by CSUMB.

  1. Use the orange Locations box to customize your call forwarding rules.  Locations are used to control the call forwarding rules as well as the greetings you wish to play to callers if you are not forwarding calls to another number.

  1. From the Locations window, you can customize Location rules by selecting a Location or click Add Location to create a custom Location.( type link to custom location article)

  1. After selecting a Location to customize, assign the new phone number to this location by checking the box next to the number appearing in the General tab.  You can also select the Add button in the bottom right hand corner to quickly add a new phone number, which will open the Addresses pop-up window.  Click Save and Close to save your changes.

  1. Remember, greetings and call forwarding rules are tied to Locations.  Use the grey Change Current Location box in the Location column to set your Location and activate your new call forwarding rule.  Make sure Availability at Current Location is set to Available so the voicemail system will forward calls.  The voicemail system will only take a message if your Availability at Current Location is set to Unavailable. Click Save to save changes (then close).

  1. As a best practice, use the Send All Calls feature on your campus phone or dial *3 to send all calls to the voicemail system.  Send All Calls drastically reduces the number of rings your callers will hear and route the call to your forwarded number faster.  To deactivate Send All Calls, press the Send All Calls button on your campus phone or dial #3.
