How to Transfer Call to Voicemail

The Transfer to Voicemail feature is available using the internal extension number 2400.  It allows for a call to be transferred directly to a person's voicemail box, rather than transferring the call to the extension which will ring their phone first.

The following instructions apply to Avaya 9620 and 9611G IP phones.

To Transfer to Voicemail:

  1. While on an active call, press the 'transfer' button.
  2. Dial 2400
  3. Press * to activate the Transfer to Voicemail feature when prompted
  4. Dial the 4-digit extension number of the person you would like to receive the transfer
  5. Press the Complete button on your phone

If you are prompted again to enter the 4-digit extension number, then the system did not recognize the extension number.  Please check the extension number and try again.

If the system still does not recognize the extension number, please contact the administrator via an IT service request for assistance.
