Accessibility for Instruction

Description:

  • For assistance in meeting immediate accommodation requirements for a student in your class this semester, please work with Student Disability and Accessibility Center (SDAC) (student_disability_resources@csumb.edu).
  • Accessible materials are designed or converted in a way that makes them usable across the widest range of student variability, regardless of format (print, digital, graphical, audio, video).

Features and Benefits:

  • This is a collaborative effort between The Center for Academic Technology (CAT) staff and the faculty members who teach each course. Faculty will be expected to identify materials and be active participants in the process.
  • The CAT team will identify the level of complexity of learning materials to decide what faculty can reasonably address themselves with training and what needs specialized attention and remediation.
  • This service provides integral support to CSUMB's efforts in meeting EO926, EO1111, and the Accessible Technology Initiative. Using a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach to content design, and delivery, our goal is to make long-term and long-lasting improvements to course material accessibility.
