Checklist for Staff & Faculty Prior to Separation

Your CSUMB Google account will be deactivated the day after your separation date if you are staff. Faculty have a grace period before accounts are separated (contact Human Resources for more information). Alumni email and Google Workspace storage have been discontinued and those services will not be available after separation.

Once your accounts are removed you will no longer have access to any of the documents in them.

  • Export any contacts you want to keep to your personal email account.
  • Transfer ownership of Google docs (do not share)- business-related docs should be transferred to your manager or Share Drive folder.
  • Transfer ownership of any shared calendars to your manager.
  • Move any files stored in MyDocs (J: Drive) or Desktop to the M Drive or a Share Drive folder owned by your manager.
  • Transfer ownership of any social media accounts you manage on behalf of the university to your manager.
  • Change your email address for any accounts you use your CSUMB email address for such as banking, Netflix, Amazon, etc
  • Either forward calls to your manager, or leave an outgoing message on your voicemail with instructions for who to contact after you’ve left.
  • Employees must surrender their IT equipment before they leave. Employees working on campus can do this with a computer drop-off IT request. Remote or hybrid employees who can not return to campus before their last day should coordinate with their department to return equipment so it may be surrendered on their behalf.
