Tips for before you arrive to campus

  • Activate your CSUMB account. To do this look for an email from noreply@okta.com in the email account you applied with. Click on the link towards the bottom of the email to activate your account. If your link has expired or you can’t find your activation email, call the Technology Help Desk at 831-582-4357.
  • Learn why we use multifactor authentication (MFA) to keep your information safe.
  • Check your email regularly. This is CSUMB’s official communication method with you. Don’t fall out of the loop by not checking your email.
  • Keep in touch with IT to be the first to know what’s going on. Bookmark our web page csumb.edu/it. Follow us @csumb_it on Instagram, Twitter, and Mastodon
  • Sign up for OtterAlerts- CSUMB’s emergency notification system to receive text messages during emergency situations.
  • Log into MyRaft to engage with other students and keep up to date on what’s going on on campus.
  • Check out Career Development’s Otterjobs is the place to look for on-campus jobs.

Tips for on campus

  • Connect to CSUMB secure Wi-Fi on your devices.
  • Log into your CSUMB dashboard and customize your app order to make it easier for to find the apps you need quickly.
  • Log into Canvas for the online components of your classes. There is a link to Canvas in your dashboard apps.
  • Log into Google Workspace using the apps on your dashboard including Gmail, Calendar, and Drive
  • Visit the Technology Help Desk with questions about your account, the technology on campus or help with your personal technology. We are located on the first floor of the Tanimura and Antle Library in the back corner of the Cafe or Reference area near the printers.  We are here to help you- so please visit us any time we are open, no appointment necessary.

Common technology resources

Not only are you encouraged to visit the Technology Help Desk in the Library, you can call us at 831-582-HELP (4357) Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (excluding campus holidays). You can also submit an IT Service ticket anytime.
